What we are looking for: 

As a Software Engineer at BreatheSuite you will:

  • Work on building applications for Web, Android or iOS platforms that will have a direct impact on our users wellbeing 
  • Work with all members of your development team to:
    • Help define user scenarios and acceptance criteria on user stories
    • Estimate user stories
    • Plan out Epic development tasks and stories
    • Help manage the release management process
  • Work with our product team to understand and design great user experiences
  • Play a critical part in our team owned product quality by practicing high code quality standards and following unit and automated test practices 
  • Work to become a technical leader on the team and help drive new innovations 
  • Mentor and coach junior team members 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • 2 - 3 years experience as a software application developer
  • Experience working in JavaScript based web development frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js)
  • Willingness to work in either (or both) iOS and Android environments based on company needs
  • Experience using REST APIs
  • Experience with (or a desire to learn) SpringBoot
  • Experience with (or a desire to learn) Docker and AWS infrastructure tooling
  • Experience with Git or other version control system
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or other software development post secondary program and/or equivalent on the job experience
  • Experience working in start-up environments an asset
  • Prior experience in digital health would be an asset but not required. Interest and passion to improve health care outcomes for patients is key
  • Experience building great user experiences  
  • Knowledge of agile software development practices
  • Display a customer focus and strong user empathy
  • A highly coachable attitude and mindset
